The Cisco 585-LRE is a four-port customer premise equipment (CPE) device for the Long-Reach Ethernet (LRE) solution. The 585 CPE and the current 575 CPE are fully interoperable with the 2924-LRE-XL and 2912-LRE-XL switches as well as with the Catalyst 2950 LRE Series swtiches. The 585 CPE shares the same basic form factor as the 575 CPE and has four Fast Ethernet ports allowing customers to connect multiple devices simultaneously.
