The Cisco CSS 11501, 11503 and the CSS 11506 are modular platforms that allow interchangeable switches. The Cisco CSS 11501 offers fixed memory and doesn’t support the same GBICs. The CSS 11503 and the 11506 are able to share memory, disks, and GBICs. The CSS11506 requires at least one SCM and allows an additional switch in standby mode.
